Habitat for Humanity of Southern Brazoria County brings families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable houses.
Apply for a Home


    You will be considered for a Habitat home based on your need for adequate shelter, ability to pay, and willingness to partner with Habitat. You must currently live in our service area (Southern Brazoria County).

  1. Need for Adequate Shelter  includes such considerations as substandard structure, overcrowded conditions, and undesirable conditions.  economic considerations will include inability to obtain conventional/subsidized financing or rent payments that take too much of the family income.
      
  2. Ability to Pay considers your sources of income, credit history, and funds available for home mortgage.  You will be required to openly and fully discuss your financial situation with Habitat personnel.  You and your family will be considered if your annual gross income is between 30% to 60% of the Brazoria County FY 2010 Income Limits published by HUD (see table below)

  3. Willingness to Partner means that you provide information needed to complete the application and approval process, attend required classes to develop successful homeownership skills, fulfill sweat equity requirements (400 hours of service) and attend Habitat functions as required.
